Frequently Asked Questions

TRIALS

When is the best time to do a trial?

Trials are best scheduled within the month leading up to your wedding as your hair and skin will be most similar to how it will be on the wedding day. It's also better for the artist as it will be fresher in their mind in order to recreate the look on the big day!

Do I have to do a trial?

Not at all! But do we recommend it? Absolutely. A trial allows you the opportunity to meet with your artist, discuss in detail the kind of look you want to create, and build a rapport with them before the wedding. It will also help alleviate stress knowing that you tried out the look beforehand and were happy with the result. It's not uncommon for a bride to imagine a certain makeup look or hair style only to realize it wasn't actually what they wanted. A trial will help determine how you want to look on the wedding day and feel great about your decision. This is the time to show us your reference photos!

Where would a trial take place?

If you are booked with Becky, then a trial can be held at her home studio in Newmarket. If you are booked with one of our other artists, then a trial may be booked at their home studios. Trials can also be booked at your home for an additional travel fee.

My mom also wants to do a trial. Can you accommodate that?

Of course! Sometimes moms are nervous about how their hair and makeup will turn out, so we are happy to offer trials for them as well.

Do you do trials on the weekends?

Between the months of May - November, typically no unless there are absolutely no bookings.

How long does a trial take?

If it's just one service, typically it's 1-1.5 hours. If it's both hair and makeup, typically it's 2-3 hours.

I'm not sure I'm ready to book. Can I do a trial first?

Absolutely. However, we run on a first come, first serve basis, so dates are not secured unless a contract is signed and a deposit is sent. If you are

waiting on a trial and a guaranteed booking comes in for the same date, priority will be given to that wedding.

BOOKING

How far in advance should I book my services?

The sooner, the better. We are booked up about a year in advance, however sometimes we have dates that remain available. Always inquire!

Is there a minimum requirement to book?

Yes. We require a minimum of 4 services to be booked. That can be hair only, makeup only, or a mix of services.

What do I need in order to book?

A signed contract and a 30% deposit will be required to secure your date. This is the information that would be needed for the contract:

  • Exactly how many services will be needed (How many hair, how many makeup, and a list of everyone's names and the services they will be getting.)

  • The time everyone needs to be ready by

  • The location where you will be getting ready

  • The amount of people that want false lashes

  • The amount of people using hair extensions

Can I add services later after the contract is signed?

Yes, depending on timing and availability.

Can I remove services after the contract is signed?

No. If someone decides they no longer want services after the contract has been signed, the service will still have to be paid for. However, the service can be moved to another person.

Can you accommodate larger parties?

As long as we have artists available, then yes! Anything over 6 services or a wedding with a tight timeline will require an additional artist. There is an assistant fee of $100 for up to two artists. Every artist added after that is an additional $50.

How early can you start?

The earliest we will start is 5:30am. Any bookings that start before 7am are subject to an early morning fee of $85 per artist.

Do you charge a travel fee?

If your location is over 25km from the artist's home base, then yes. A rate of $0.70/km will be added to the contract per artist. Parking fees/passes must also be covered for each artist if they must drive separately. We will usually try to make sure everyone can carpool.

When would accommodations be required?

If a wedding takes place over 1.5 hours from the artist's home base and the start time is before 9am, then accommodations will be required. Hotels, highly rated motels, or airbnbs are acceptable. Separate beds must be provided for each artist.

What if the wedding is cancelled? Do I get my money back?

Let's hope this doesn't happen!! But in the case that it does, your deposit is non-refundable. If the wedding is cancelled more than 60 days before the wedding date, then no other amounts are owed. If the wedding is cancelled 30 - 60 days before the wedding, 50% of the remaining amount owing will be due immediately upon cancellation. If the wedding is cancelled less than 30 days before the wedding, then the full amount owing will be due immediately upon cancellation.

WEDDING DAY

How early will you arrive before services start?

Artists will always arrive 15 minutes before the start time to set up.

How long will each service take?

60 minutes is slotted for each service. If a bride decides on a more complicated hair look (ex. glam waves), then it will be 90 minutes.

How will we keep the day organized?

A predetermined schedule will be made to give us a running order of who is getting what done and with who to keep us on time. Sometimes things happen, so as long as someone is in the chair at all times, then everything will run smoothly.

Should we provide reference photos?

Yes please! Ask your bridal to try to keep reference photos to a maximum of 3 photos per service, ideally looks that are similar. For hair, try to find photos from the front, the side and the back. Try to avoid AI images as they are not a real representation of what makeup or hairstyles look like.

I just want to get my eyes done and I'll do the rest of the makeup myself. Do you offer a discount?

No, we don't offer partial makeup applications.

Can you just apply lashes for me?

If we have time, yes. It's $10 whether you provide the lashes or use ours.

How will I be able to touch-up after you leave?

We provide cute little touch-up kits for everyone getting a makeup service done! Touch-up kits include a powder puff, translucent powder, a lipstick sample, lipstick brush, and blotting papers.
